Bonjour!
I'm done with our departmental seminar. As a PhD student, I have officially finished all four seminars required on us. Yayyy..feel like doing a bungee-jumping!
Well, it was just a 5-mins talk but speaking in front of approx. 100 students needs a good preparation after all. The slides must be set automatically, and in a very short talk, the speaker will be evaluated in every aspect: content, appearance, oral, and technical. After that, people start asking you questions. As for me, the most scary part of presentation is answering audience's question. Depending on how well-prepared, and how knowledgeable you are. Whatever it is, Alhamdulillah, I made it (you can tell if you did a good job whenever people came to you to congratulate! Ahaks).
Also, I think today's the day I had my presentation with the best outfit I could have. Baju kurung with a blazer. Yup, exclusively for the presentation. Haha, lepas tu saya balik rumah tukar baju sebab nak masuk lab. Biasanya saya datang kampus dengan baju tshirt, seluar slack. Kalau ada anugerah dalam pejabat ni untuk pelajar paling sempoi, aku la yang paling layak, kebanyakan masa baju datang ofis sama dengan baju berkebun. Nature of my research pun jenis outdoor. To wear a baju kurung everyday memang tak lah. Ni dah masuk sejuk, fall season, pakai baju kurung dah mula nak melekat2 dekat badan. No matter how loose your baju kurung is. Pakai waktu winter takyah cakap la, memang melekat. So I found that most of the time it's impractical to wear baju kurung in here, because of the material of baju kurung itself. Plus, I'm biking, hehe.
Ni lagi dua hari nak raya qurban. This year we celebrate a day earlier than Malaysia. Excited y'all! Diorang akan buat dekat satu rumah Malaysian untuk majlis hari raya, dari solat, sampai la lunch. Sembelih tak pasti dekat mana.. mungkin dekat-dekat situ la kot. Rumah tu katanya dalam kawasan farm. Mesti cantik dengan warna warni pokok.
All the best utk Yanie dan Essy, hamba akan mengikuti jejak kalian berdua soon! Kbye! ;)
PS: When I was walking back home for a short break, I ran into a guy from Masdar Institute inviting me to apply for a postdoc position in his workplace. Tengoklah mana ada rezeki, situ la kita pergi..
